Getting Around Portland

Shuttle

Public Transit

The City of Portland offers excellent, affordable public transportation, and we encourage everyone to use it. All our buses use Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay, with no prepurchase of tickets necessary. Just tap your phone when you board.

Bike Share

Portland is great for biking! Portland has its own public bike share system, BIKETOWN, with stations conveniently located all over Portland and we're adding additional stations on the east side of Washington High. Use the discount code "XOXO19" for a $10 credit when you register.

Scooter Share

As of April 2019, shared electric scooters are available through Bird, Lime, Spin, Bolt, Razor, and Shared as part of a year-long pilot. If you ride them, please use bike lanes where possible and stay off the sidewalks.

Car Sharing

Car2Go is available throughout Portland with a fleet of Mercedez-Benz cars available on-demand for $0.39/minute, and you can park in any public parking space for free.

Parking

Free parking for XOXO attendees is available in the Revolution Hall parking lot Thursday-Friday after 6pm on Saturday-Sunday after 12pm. Please avoid using the neighborhood's limited street parking.

Taxis

If you need a cab, the Curb app lets you call or schedule local taxis with real-time tracking.

Walking

If you're able, everything's pretty close. When the weather's nice, we routinely walk from Revolution Hall to the downtown hotels and back. Walking from the Jupiter takes about 12 minutes. From downtown, about 40 minutes. In a pinch, use Google's walking directions. (Cross the Morrison Bridge from SE Water Ave between Belmont and Yamhill, or either side of the Burnside Bridge.)

Anything But Uber/Lyft

We strongly encourage attendees use any of the options above instead of Uber or Lyft. Both companies are actively undermining public transportation and worker protections, refusing to pay their drivers a living wage or benefits, while artificially and unsustainably lowering the cost of rides.
